The authenticator app stores and generates secure 2FA (two-factor authentication) tokens for your online accounts on your device.
The multi-factor authentication app helps enhance the security of your online accounts. Two-factor authentication (2FA) generates Time-based One-time Passwords (TOTP) and Hash-based one-time passwords (HOTP).
With 2FA, compromising just one of these factors will not unlock the account. Therefore, even if your password is stolen or your phone is lost, the likelihood of someone else accessing your second factor information is significantly reduced.
- Two Factor Authentication: 2FA plays a critical role in security by promptly mitigating the risks associated with compromised passwords. The authenticator app enables the generation of Time-based One-time Passwords (TOTP) and Hash-based one-time passwords (HOTP).
